Never ever trust Chinese numbers, Chinese auditors, or Chinese statistics. I have 20 plus years working on due diligence assignments in China and with Chinese companies in the west.
Taiwan is fine. Chinese in other countries are fine. It has a lot to do with the domestic culture in the People's Republic of China and a few other nations, where people always try to look rich and behave like rich people in the movies when they are not rich. This article touches the surface of what I see.
