Only the Boomers who fail to outlive their accumulated money will have anything at all to pass down to and through their families. With the recent very high inflation in medical costs and daily-living assistance, this Boomer isn't sure that my money will last until I die.
I didn’t read the article, but to the extent it is about the fact that we are doing too much intergeneration government transfers from the young and less well off to the old who are much better off, given that our TFR is low enough and our legal immigration policies bad enough and our welfare state (overly) generous enough, I’d have thought you would at least support their goal while deriding their logic…
